With spring upon us, everybody is readying themselves for new offensives and new equipment is rolling out of the assembly lines.
The German engineers have been hard at work and produced a strange new vehicle. US spotters have noticed it zipping across the landscape, too fast to be a tank but bulkier than your average Kübelwagen. It looks nasty.
BUT the ingenuity of America’s automotive industry has not melted with the last snow of winter. The Allies also have a new dog in their hunting pack, as this German patrol is just discovering.
The third and final release of the Newgarden update is now live on the servers! With Newgarden introducing so many big changes to the fold (new character progression, badges and ribbons and game UI, to name a few), we’ve been rolling out the features, changes and tweaks over a number of updates to make sure everything settles in nicely, and today marks the final part of that process. This final release has really been focused on fixing and fine-tuning what’s there already, rather than adding big, sexy features, but there are still plenty of new and improved things to get you up to speed with.
There are of course many more changes, so continue reading for more details…
If you have had the opportunity to play on the new airfield map, you will probably have wondered about the strange fortifications which look like above-ground tunnels or hollowed-out hills. What are they for? Did our level designer just make these up or did they really exist during WWII? Let’s find out!
In the posts so far we have focused on the action game and the character progression, but the coming Newgarden build also brings changes to the strategy game. Reto.Indusninja has cooked up new algorithms to determine the way assault teams are selected and committed to battle. Here’s how it’s going to work…
That’s right! Reto is turning all battles, literally. In this short news-post I want to show you one of the small, but very interesting and much requested feature.
Please take your seats gentlemen… ah! I see our special guests from the Square Enix webpage have arrived. Welcome! Now that we have everybody, we may begin this briefing. Kindly start the projector, Wilson…
Gentlemen! I am pleased to announce that very shortly a new character progression tree will be implemented as part of the coming Newgarden build. This is a feature which has been widely requested by our players for a very long time, and one which shall bring more depth to the Heroes & Generals gaming experience. It consists of a completely revised system for character types and ranks, equipment, combat ribbons and badges.
The time has come to announce the biggest change to come in the Manstein build: a complete overhaul of the Mountain Town map. In fact our level designer and graphics department haven’t “reworked” the map so much as completely rebuilt it! This is the first part of the tour. Hop onto my truck!
