Update ‘Utz’ introducing the new Forward Airfield map is now live!

This brand-new update brings a much requested new feature – a brand new map ! The update is named Utz (after General Willibald Utz) and here’s a quick overview of the new features we’ve added for you to enjoy!

New Features

New Map: Forward Airfield

The new map is an assault map called ‘Forward Airfield‘ and it represents the small forward airfields built all over Europe during the war. We have published a handful of blogposts detailing the objective on the map so click the links to learn more about ‘the village church‘, ‘the bridge and village&the airstrip‘ itself.

Weapon Tweaks

We have made a handful of tweaks to weapon handling of grenades, semi-auto rifles and LMGs. Read more about the tweaks here!

Character Update

This update also brings an update to the characters in the game. They now look much better running and when standing on sloped terrain due to the improved IK and banking. We have also adjusted the control of the character while jumping to make it look and feel better.

Utz Update Detail: Weapon Tweaks

When attacking or defending maps, including of course the NEW Forward Airfield map, you need your weapons to perform! And while we’re not introducing any new weapons in this build or making any major changes, we do have a collection of tweaks to make the weapons feel better, and hopefully be more enjoyable to play with!

New Forward Airfield map detail: The Church

A few days ago we wrote an overview post of the new Forward Airfield map that we are introducing in the upcoming Utz update!


Today we will look into a bit more detail on Objective O3 – The Church and the two lines leading there.
The Church itself is a small village church, but the tower still presents you with a great, if rather exposed, point from where you can scout enemy advances.

Incoming! New ‘Forward Airfield’ map in next update!

In the next update to the game named Utz (after General Willibald Utz) we are introducing a new Assault Map codenamed “Forward Airfield”.

This new map represents one of the forward airfields that were built all over Europe before and during the war. Here we have a small village situated on a hill overlooking a river where a piece of nearby farmland has been laid out as an impromptu airstrip. The map is an assault map with 3 main objectives: The Airfield, The village Church and the bridge controlling access to the village. Click the objective names to see more details on each area!

‘Timoshenko’ update introducing the Soviet faction is now live!

This latest update brings the Soviet Union to the war as the third playable faction! 3 Factions fight for domination on 3000 battlefields (1000 new). The update is named Timoshenko (after the Soviet marshal and military commander Semyon Timoshenko) and here’s a quick overview of the new features we’ve added for you to enjoy!

 

New Features

New Faction: Soviet Union as playable faction

The Soviets are here! And they bring light tanks as well as medium, heavies and tank destroyers, as well as a giant Anti-tank rifle & AA, a lot of new weapons, planes, paratroopers and a lot more!

Weapon Balancing and NEW Weapon Upgrades

We have rebalanced all weapons in game and now introduce an Improved Weapon Upgrade feature, with much easier to see effects. The old (and a bit confusing) weapon mod system has been retired and mods refunded. Read more here.

Resource Pooling, Supply Line Skirmish & Retreat

All units in a battle pool their resources, to make it easier to spawn and even out Assault Teams wins/losses. Read more here. Supply line skirmish missions are now started when two Assault teams meet on a supply line AND Assault teams can now retreat from battles by sacrificing some resources as a rear guard.
