Timoshenko Update: Soviet light tank BT-7

Rounding out the Soviet selection of light tanks is the BT-7 – This famous light tank combines both speed and a proper cannon, and when in numbers they have been known to go up against heavier enemies!

The BT-7, or ‘Betka’ as it is called by its crew, is a lightly armored Soviet cavalry tank. It is well armed with a 45mm cannon and two 7.62mm machine guns. It is also the predecessor to the famous T-34. So all in all this has the speed of the T-38 & the firepower of the T-26.

Timoshenko Update: Soviet light tank T-38

Far ahead of the advancing Red Army, you might notice a tiny grey turret barely above the tall grass. This is the T-38. This is truly a tank that puts the ‘light’ in light armor. It is tiny, very difficult to spot, yet fast, nimble and very agile. It is excellent for clearing out enemy recon troop and squad leaders directing from behind the front.

The T-38 is a small Soviet scout tank. It is fast, agile and armed with a single 7.62mm DT machine gun and serves best in the role of infantry support. Oh and did we mention; it is the cheapest of all light tanks to field fitting perfectly with Soviet doctrine of strength in numbers.

Timoshenko Update: Soviet light tank T-26

Ahead of the advancing Red Army, various recon and scout units can be spotted. The light armor and recon units use a number of different weapon and vehicles and one of their finest pieces of equipment is the T-26.

The T-26 is one of the most successful Soviet light tanks and is deployed on all the Soviet fronts. It is a further development of the British Vickers Mk. E. It is armed with a 45mm cannon and a 7.62mm machine gun.

If you’ve been following our weekly ‘Devstreams’ on Twitch you might have heard us talk about an update for Spaatz, but we decided to split this into two updates: ‘Spaatz addon #1′ and ‘Spaatz addon#2′.

Upcoming Feature: Open Faction Fighting

One of the most interesting and also most visible features we are getting ready to roll out is the Open Faction Fighting. We talked a bit about this in the last Devstream.

What does it mean?

You no longer have to commit to a faction before even playing your first battle. From the next update (Spaatz Addon #1) you can play Staged Battles (previously called random training missions) for as long as you want and you can add soldiers from all factions into the matchmaker if you just want to play now!
