StG44, M1/M2 Carbine, New Scopes, Factory Map updates, New ribbons and more now live in the Walker update!

This brand-new update brings a lot of new features – Sturmgewehr 44 and M1/M2 carbines, Factory Map updates, Tank balancing pass, New scopes AND new ribbons and unlocks! The update is named ‘Walker’ after the American Major General Fred L. Walker, and here’s a quick overview of the new features we’ve added for you to enjoy!

New Features


New Scopes

In this update we’re updating and expanding the selection of scopes in the game. We’re introducing a nice selection of low power scopes and limiting the high power scopes to recons. Read more and see the new scopes here.

StG44 & M1/M2 Carbine

This update adds the much requested StG44 assault rifle for the German faction and the M1/M2 Carbine for the American as well as Selective Fire (switch between semi- and full-auto) on supported weapons. You can read more about the new weapons in this blog post.

Factory Map Updates

We’ve gone through the Factory Map and given it a lot of updates to improve balancing and make it a LOT MORE FUN. Check out the details in this blog post.

Vehicle Balance Pass

In this update, all tanks and tank destroyers have been visited by the mechanic and armor plates measured and adjusted, and cannons tweaked and balanced. Read more about the changes here.

New Ribbons & Ribbon level completion

Walker also brings a bunch of new ribbons! We have given each vehicle and weapon their own specialist ribbon to progress that will unlock upgrades for that weapon/vehicle. We have merged some of the ribbons that did not unlock much into the broader Infantry and Armor Assault ribbons. AND now you can complete the individual ribbon levels using gold and currently also credits. Read more about the updates here.

New Ribbons & unlocks in Walker update

In the coming Walker update we are moving some ribbons around and adding a bunch of new ones.

We are rolling the rifle ribbons into a new “Infantry Assault” ribbon and the tank ribbons into one “Armor Assault” ribbon.


But what about my progress on the removed ribbons? We’ll take your progress from the individual ribbons and ADD them together, so a lot of you might start the new ribbon at a very high level, we thought this is the most fair thing to do.


The two new ribbons introduced are the main ribbons for Infantry and Tankers and progress in these ribbons are unlocks weapons and vehicles in the different categories.

New Scopes coming for all factions in Walker update!

Among all the other awesome new weapons, vehicle tweaks, etc. we must not forget that the Walker update ALSO brings a solid handful of new scopes to the game.

We know the gameplay with scoped rifles is loved by a lot of players, so this is something we have wanted to expand for a while. BUT this said, the different classes still have their different purposes on the battlefield, and we think it is much more fun if these differences are expanded by for example not giving everybody access to all scopes, but limiting the high end scopes to the recon class.

Walker’s Wild Weapons! M1/M2 Carbine & StG44!

Rumors have been flying! Whispers heard at night in the barracks. BUT NOW the wait is almost over! 2 new weapons shows up in the Walker update! The American M1/M2 Carbine and the German StG44! These much requested high tier weapons will soon be available to enjoy!

The next update is called ‘Walker’ after the American Major General Fred L. Walker, and here these new weapons will be available!

German Sturmgewehr 44

This is one of the most iconic weapons of World War II and is a truly fearsome beast. Sturmgewehr means “assault rifle” and that is just what it is for – Assault! It fires a shortened down version of the normal German 8×57 IS round called the 7.92x33mm Kurz (short). This gives it less power and range than the rifles firing the full-sized 8x57IS, but it more than makes up for this with a 30-round magazine, selective fire (choose between full and semi-automatic fire)

Tank and vehicle balancing in coming Walker update

We have pulled performance stats for all vehicles and looked at how they perform in game and we’ve been digging through our forums and the Steam discussions to gather as much community feedback as possible, and now we’ve rolled this into a great big balancing pass for armored vehicles (and AA cannons).

Factory Map changes coming in Walker update

While we are still hard at work getting the Walker update ready for you all, it is time to lift the curtain and reveal some of the awesome new features this update brings! The update is called ‘Walker’ after the American Major General Fred L. Walker.

A map that has been around for quite a while is the Factory map, and this time reto.Desji managed to find time in between his other very secret work to give it a makeover, addressing a lot of the major and minor annoyances on the map, as well as adding a solid handful of new tweaks to improve the level.

AT Morale, Badges for Generals, new melee and MORE arrives with the New Vasilevsky Update

This brand-new update brings a lot of new features – assault team morale , a new melee system and more! The update is named Vasilevsky after the Soviet general Aleksandr Vasilevsky and here’s a quick overview of the new features we’ve added for you to enjoy!

New Features

Assault Team Morale

This update introduces Assault Team Morale. This adds a much requested layer of depth to the strategic war game. You now have to take your units’ morale into consideration before you commit them to attacks, and it makes defense-in-depth a more effective strategy. Melee / Close Combat update

In this update we have reworked the melee / Close combat feature. It is now much easier to use and looks a LOT better. You can read more about how it works in this blog post.

Weapon Balance Pass

This build continues the weapon balancing and tweaks and adds a few new things, first of all the M1 Carbine is now available for regular US infantry with rank 12 of the Semi-Auto Ribbon. Soldiers wielding Pistols & Revolvers can now decide on how much ammunition they want to carry and a new powerful round for the American revolver is here.

New Ribbons & Combat Badges

Four new Combat Badges! Mechanic (faster vehicle repair), Charismatic Leader (Faster morale recovery), Battlefield Commander (Extra Morale), Logistic Expert (Increased AT movement speed). And two new ribbons: Battle Ribbon (Participate in WAR battles to earn experience. Highest award is given for victories) and War Ribbon (Participate on the winning side of a war to earn experience). – Other ribbon updates; See the full changelog (link below) for more details.

Incoming Update: Improved Melee Combat

In the next major update, named Vasilevsky, we have greatly improved the melee combat. We know that a lot of players like to carry a knife or shovel or maybe a wrench with which they can also fix both their own and teammates vehicles. But we felt the melee combat could be improved and so we did.

We have just given our melee mechanics another iteration, using Inverse Kinematics and more precise animations to aid the attacker.
It will now be easier to hit your enemy with knives, shovels and wrenches.
