Incoming! New feature in next update: Assault Team Morale

In the next update to the game, one of the new features we are introducing is Morale for Assault Teams. The next update is called “Vasilevsky” after the Soviet general Aleksandr Vasilevsky

All assault teams now have a morale value that shows how combat-ready they are. Here is one of my “Mototized Guard” units happily moving towards Warsaw. This is how it looks on the campaign map.

Update ‘Utz’ introducing the new Forward Airfield map is now live!

New Features

New Map: Forward Airfield

The new map is an assault map called ‘Forward Airfield‘ and it represents the small forward airfields built all over Europe during the war. We have published a handful of blogposts detailing the objective on the map so click the links to learn more about ‘the village church‘, ‘the bridge and village&the airstrip‘ itself.

Weapon Tweaks

We have made a handful of tweaks to weapon handling of grenades, semi-auto rifles and LMGs. Read more about the tweaks here!

Character Update

This update also brings an update to the characters in the game. They now look much better running and when standing on sloped terrain due to the improved IK and banking. We have also adjusted the control of the character while jumping to make it look and feel better.

There is of course much more happening in the build, so continue reading for more details…

Timoshenko Update: Here’s Bobik!

While advancing across the battlefield you might have seen a strange new vehicle. A small, fast scout car used by Soviet Mechanized Recon Assault Teams. This is the BA-64B aka the ‘Bobik’.

The design is roughly based on the German SdKfz 222, but armed with a Degtyaryov machinegun instead of a cannon, this fast 4×4 is very effective at transporting recon units long distances fast while protecting them from small arms fire, but if driving this pay attention to enemies armed with cannons or Anti-tank weapons and stay well away.

Being smaller and lighter armored than its German and American counterparts it is also cheaper to produce and easier to operate. This it both reflected in how soon you get access to it, where it unlocks when you reach the rank of “Senior Praporshchik” (rank 10) AND in the price to field and use it where it approximately 35% cheaper than the American & German counterparts.
