The new build named Spaatz (after the American general and first Chief of Staff of the US Airforce Carl Andrew ‘Tooey’ Spaatz) is live on the servers! So here’s a quick overview of the new features we’ve added for you to enjoy!
There is of course much more happening in the build, so continue reading for more details…
It’s time to save up fuel and ration the food. Everyone must do their share for the war effort! Because in the coming Spaatz build, both factions will experience limited resources, giving a new dimension to the Strategy Game. How will this affect gameplay? Read on!
In the upcoming Rommel build we are introducing two new weapons: The American M1 Carbine & the German Fallschirmjägergewehr 42. We did talk a bit about them in our live twitch.tv broadcast on Friday, and if you missed the show, you can catch it here on our Youtube channel.
SO let’s start with the new German toy, the:
In the upcoming build named Rommel we are introducing a new addition to the strategic layer of the game – Expanded Victory Conditions.
We are changing the condition for winning a war in Rommel. Before we only had one capital per faction, and you could win by capturing the enemy capital. But now we have expanded the campaign map to a much larger part of Europe and there are now 15 capitals (and other strategically important cities) in total.
In the upcoming build named Rommel we are introducing a new piece of equipment – The Adjustable (or Monkey) Wrench.
The Wrench is a very versatile tool that can be used to repair vehicles from bicycles over cars and half tracks to tanks.
Notice that silence? You can hear flies buzzing. There are thousands of boots lined up on the landing strip but no movement, not a sound. The atmosphere is heavy with the authoritative presence of the lone character who is just now stepping out of his personal transport. Who commands such obedience and discipline? The General, that’s who!
With the imminent arrival of the aptly-named Rommel build, the time has come to unveil a major change in the strategy portion of Heroes & Generals: namely, that Officers and Generals will now be actual characters, with direct command of their own Assault Teams. This means new ranks will now become available. So how does it work? Read on.
Paratroopers are getting ready to jump! In the next build named Quesada (after the United States Army Airforce general Elwood Richard Quesada) paratroopers will fly back into action!
Jump into action!
If you have an Infantry soldier at rank 7 or above you can transfer him to the paratroopers! Paratroopers are not as heavily armed as other soldiers and cannot carry Machineguns, Panzerschreck/Bazookas so if you have purchased a lot of heavy equipment for your soldier, it might be an idea to play another soldier up to rank 7 and convert him. Or if you don’t have the time for that you can buy an academy trained paratrooper for gold. Keeping at least one normal infantry soldier is always a good idea to help minimize waiting times when EVERYBODY wants to play with a specific type of soldier.
Mountains! Mountains! Mountains! A train station, an inn, and a whole lot more! A new build is rolling on to the servers right now. The main new feature is a lot of updates to the Mountain Town map, some tweaks to the Airfield map a couple of cool new personalizations for bolt-action rifles and SMGs. So together with the last batch, the should be something for (almost) everybody now :-)
