A big new feature coming in the Timoshenko Update is a complete rework of how you modify and upgrade your weapons. The old system was at times confusing and it was not always easy to understand how the different mods affected the weapon and how that might be useful for you as the player using that weapon.
We have gone through the entire system and replaced a lot and updated the rest. So Let us recap how everything works! All weapon upgrades work by modifying one or more of the following five categories: Damage, Range, Precision, Stability & Rate of Fire. Below is a quick explanation of what each does as well as their respective icons.
Rounding out the Soviet selection of light tanks is the BT-7 – This famous light tank combines both speed and a proper cannon, and when in numbers they have been known to go up against heavier enemies!
BT-7 Model 1937
The BT-7, or ‘Betka’ as it is called by its crew, is a lightly armored Soviet cavalry tank. It is well armed with a 45mm cannon and two 7.62mm machine guns. It is also the predecessor to the famous T-34. So all in all this has the speed of the T-38 & the firepower of the T-26.
Far ahead of the advancing Red Army, you might notice a tiny grey turret barely above the tall grass. This is the T-38. This is truly a tank that puts the ‘light’ in light armor. It is tiny, very difficult to spot, yet fast, nimble and very agile. It is excellent for clearing out enemy recon troop and squad leaders directing from behind the front.
Keep your filthy magnet away from my comrade’s tank!
T-38 Model 1937
The T-38 is a small Soviet scout tank. It is fast, agile and armed with a single 7.62mm DT machine gun and serves best in the role of infantry support. Oh and did we mention; it is the cheapest of all light tanks to field fitting perfectly with Soviet doctrine of strength in numbers.
Ahead of the advancing Red Army, various recon and scout units can be spotted. The light armor and recon units use a number of different weapon and vehicles and one of their finest pieces of equipment is the T-26.
T-26 Model 1933
The T-26 is one of the most successful Soviet light tanks and is deployed on all the Soviet fronts. It is a further development of the British Vickers Mk. E. It is armed with a 45mm cannon and a 7.62mm machine gun.
