Server Moving!

Thursday 24 July 2014 the servers will go down for maintenance, because our servers are being moved so when required we are able to directly add more server capacity so everyone is able to play!

The downtime will start at 04.45 06.00 UTC and will last until approximately 12.00 UTC.

Should anything change in the schedule we will let you know right here!

Everyone who has Veteran Membership running will have 1 day of Veteran Membership added to their account once the downtime is over.

Update [2014.07.16 12.30 UTC]:

The servers are still misbehaving. We currently can’t provide an estimated time when the servers will be back up. We will keep you informed on all platforms.

Thank you for your patience.

Today we experienced multiple server issues which lead to imminent downtimes. Despite IT’s efforts to solve the issue today the servers will remain offline for tonight.

It appears to be that one of our hardware components is experiencing technical difficulties. The servers will be back up and running as fast as possible tomorrow.

We are deeply sorry for the inconvenience and will make this up to you. Those who have ribbon boosters and veteran memberships running will not have to worry about their lost time.

We thank you for your understanding and patience with us.

Heroes & Generals is Now Available on Steam!

We have just released Heroes & Generals on Steam Early Access, so we encourage you to install and play the game using the new stand-alone PC client for Steam.

Our shiny new Heroes & Generals – Steam Launch Trailer

The browser client will also still be operational on game.heroesandgenerals.com and both clients give you access to the same version of the game itself and will connect you to the same wars with the same accounts, and it’s of course still free-to-play. You can still use your current account when playing Heroes & Generals on Steam and you will have full access to everything on your account no matter if you play on Steam or use a browser.

The differences between the browser client and the Steam client are:

Stand-Alone Client

The Steam client runs via a stand-alone client and needs to be installed and patched using Steam, whereas the browser client runs via Chrome, IE or Firefox and is installed and patched as usual.

Steam Wallet

When using the Steam client, all Gold-purchases are made with the Steam wallet, offering a lot of different payment options, whereas when you use the browser client you will be able to pay using our usual payment system.

And we wish to shout out a huge “THANK YOU!” to all who voted for us to be Greenlit on Steam. We’re absolutely sure that we have the best community in the world, and we’re extremely grateful for your support!

…So, what are you hanging around here for soldier? Get back to the frontline and help your faction win the war!
