Intelligence Bulletin Vol 3 * No 6

In Robotron3000′s absence I, Reto.megaman, have been doing his duties. But since I do not have many stories from the front, for this week’s Intelligent Bulletin, I give the word to Mr. KenSolo

The upcoming Hansen build is now being tested on our internal test-server and Reto.Ratamahat and Reto.Dave are currently racing against time in order to finish a new Skirmish map that didn’t make the “feature lock” deadline.

Usually it is forbidden by Reto-Moto governmental law to work past the feature lock deadline, but we really want to deliver a new map for you brave soldiers out there, so we try to see if we can fit it in for the Hansen build.

Speaking of feature lock and builds – let me give you a short brief about our production cycle:

We devide each build into two main phases: Development and Test & Deploy. In the Development phase we hammer away on all the new features, tweak old ones and fix occasional bugs on the live server. And at some point we set a “feature lock” deadline, which is where all developers are to deliver what they have been working on in the development phase.

Then Reto.hal9k starts integrating all the different features and tweaks and move the build from our development servers onto our test server. Reto.Splixxen and his QA team now tests the build from a-z (and sometimes even beyond that) and report bugs. Then the developers fixes the bugs and QA verifies the fix, and so on… At some point we find the build mature enough to put to the next step, which is the “stable” server, and we put more testers on the stable build for more testing. Occasionally we also jump into the chat-channels on the live server and invite players in to stress test the build on the stable server.

And when we feel that the build on the stable server is ready, we release it to the live server for all of you… :)

    It was possible to be in a battle alone and capture all the points in early alpha…
    It was fun( Cause you get free points without being shot ) and creepy( Cause entire map is completly empty…).

    Agree, way too easy to use. Need more recoil and a mg limit users per team on each server. like 3 mgs per team on a full server.

    also give to both sides the same type of weapon to infantry men. Give them both semi-automatic guns or bolt rifles. Or at least let us chose. Pretty lame that you are forced to play with a bolt rifle in the germany side while the usa have semi-automatic rifles.

      Well same was in reality but soldiers didn’t said anything bad about Kar…
      It was superior.

        If you want reality then it should had been RUSS vs GER. EUA joined later the WII in europe and Russia defeteated the Germany army.

    The G43, so Philiporris don’t worry :) is on his way to the game as I see. I hope they will include also the m1903 (with no scope) to the US side so that it’s much more balanced.

    AH! that would be easy, you already got the model. Just take off the scope from the mesh and rebake the ambient occlusion. Still don’t understand why Reto didn’t that yet.

    For now, the best thing that they can do is rework the mg system. It became ridicolous see only people with mgs.

    If not, it will be in the future when they will add British faction to the gameplay.

    the actually skirmish map it’s quite good, I liked also the old one. the only thing the reto could do it’s implement different of them. Became boring play always on the same maps

What are you waiting for soldier? We need heroes on the battlefield and generals to lead them!
