To give you an idea of the process of creating the first sound for the strategy game I have created this short video.
The sound in question is an indication for when one of your assault teams engages the enemy.
- I think of this sound as one that needs to grab you attention and inform you that something important is happening. To achieve this I have used a deep impact sound with some metal sound on top.
- To tell that a battle has been initiated I added the sound of swords being unsheathed and slashed together. (Yes I know that swords were not used in World War II but the sound of swords slashing together sounds cool and serves the purpose well) :-)
- To add more war sounds and to use something that indicates that soldiers of your assault team are charging forward I added a “war cry”.
- Finally I added reverb to make the whole thing larger.
If you have any ideas for how you think the overall sound-theme should be for the strategy game or if you have ideas for just a few sounds, your comments are more than welcome. I cannot promise that I will follow your ideas 100% but I will always listen to what you have to say.
